Achieves Prestigious SEI-CMM Level 5 Certification

Dorado Hills, Calif. - April 02, 2003 - R Systems,
Inc., a global information technology services and solutions
provider, announced today today that its business unit,
Indus Software, received Software Engineering Institute's
Capability Maturity Model (CMM) Level 5 Certification.
According to the latest Nasscom survey*, only 52 other
India based companies are CMM Level 5 Certified and
less than 100 companies worldwide hold the certification.
The Capability Maturity Model for Software describes
the principles and practices underlying software process
maturity and is intended to help software organizations
improve the maturity of their software processes in
terms of an evolutionary path from ad hoc processes
to mature, disciplined software processes. The CMM model,
developed by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI)
at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA, emphasizes
Quality and overall solution planning to customer.

Scope of Assessment: All software development and testing
activities carried out in Indus Software (A business
of R Systems International Limited) at Pune and Chennai.
Assessment included Software CMM® (v1.1) maturity
level 2 thru 5 KPAs (excluding Software Subcontract
Management). Maturity level rating was level 5 (optimizing),
